Telephone interviews

Since Nikkei Research conducted the first full-scale telephone opinion poll in Japan in 1986, Nikkei Research has accumulated various types of expertise related to telephone interviews. It has become very difficult to conduct telephone interviews since the enforcement of the Private Information Protection Law.
In the midst of this, the three areas described below are Nikkei Research’s primary telephone interview services. When conducting a telephone interview, Nikkei Research gives top priority to ensuring the quality of the survey data and the protection of private information. Therefore, Nikkei Research adopts a CATI (Computer Assisted Telephone Interviewing).

Primary services

  1. Nikkei Research conducts the Nikkei telephone opinion poll as a research company of the Nihon Keizai Shimbun Group. The opinion poll based on the RDD sampling have been conducted since 2001.
  2. Nikkei Research conducts CS surveys (customer satisfaction survey) by telephone if the surveys require skills related to both survey know-how and private information protection.
  3. As a service to support other research methods, the call operation center inspects collected sample of door-to-door, recruits respondents and gives a reminder call for the mail surveys. In addition, for B to B surveys, trained operators check collected questionnaires by mail and call back if necessary.
