General Election Forecast (Poll Survey) -- news published on Nikkei, October 29

The poll showed that the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) is struggling to achieve the majority on its own -- that is to gain more than 233 seats within the total of 465 seats in the House of Representatives -- in the coming election held on October 31st. LDP and its coalition partner Komeito, together, will likely keep the overall majority, unchanged from the previous forecast. The Constitutional Democratic Party is expected to increase their seats, while the Japan Innovation Party seeks third place topping over Komeito.
