The most amount of donations received from Furusato-nozei (tax deductible donation-to-local system) in FY2021 is estimated to be 15 billion yen, each for both cities in Hokkaido; Monbetsu City (2nd place in FY2020) and Nemuro City (3rd place in FY2020). Miyakonojo City in Miyazaki, which collected the most amount in FY2020, had 13.5 billion yen for the second consecutive years and was ranked 3rd. 80% of cities/wards showed intentions to utilize the corporate version of the Furusato-nozei system, which municipal governments do not need to give out gifts in return of the donation.
