Mr. Taro Kono topped the list by 46% in the "suitable candidate" for the president of the LDP, the de facto next prime minister. Followed by Mr. Fumio Kishida at 17%, Ms. Sanae Takaichi at 14%, and Ms. Seiko Noda at 5%. The approval rating for the Suga Cabinet was 38%, not much changed from 36% in the previous survey two weeks ago. The disapproval rating was down 5 points to 51%.
