Survey on Job Openings and Hiring for FY2023 — published on Nikkei/Nikkei Business Daily/Nikkei MJ

The number of university graduate job offers (entering in spring 2023) from major companies increased for the first time in four years, up 5.7% compared to the numbers for spring 2022. The non-manufacturing sector increased the numbers by 4% overall, the first year-over-year growth in four years, with 18 of the 23 industries showing an increase. The manufacturing sector increased for the second consecutive year, up 9.6%, with 10 of the 19 industries having double-digit growth. The fulfillment rate toward the planned job openings, however, was the lowest in the last 10 years.
