In a survey of 886 Japanese companies on their commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), 8 companies, including Omron and Shiseido, were ranked as the highest tier in the overall rating. While the implementation of legislation to prevent human rights violations in the supply chain is growing in Europe and the U.S., only 269 Japanese companies (30.4%) have policies to provide remedies that extend to their supply chain network.
