The ratio of mid-career hires to the 2023 hiring plans of 2,308 major companies reached a record high of 37.6%, doubling in seven years from 2016. By industry, the non-manufacturing sector accounted for 39.9% and the manufacturing sector for 31.7%. The planned number of mid-career hires is 94,430, an increase of 24.2% from the FY2022 results, which is also the highest ever. The limit is approaching for Japanese-style employment mainly for new graduates.
