In a survey of 22 major brands, Kochi Eggplant from Kochi Prefecture, which boasts the highest production volume in Japan, came out on top. Out of 17 evaluation items, 12 items such as "supply stability" and "name recognition" received the highest evaluation. The 2nd place was Hakata eggplant made in Fukuoka Prefecture, which was the top in "shape and size", and the 3rd place was Kamo eggplant in Kyoto Prefecture, which was the 1st place in 5 items such as "taste" and "texture".
