The Kishida Cabinet’s approval rating was 42%, 2 percentage point increase from the previous survey in July, that was almost unchanged. The disapproval rate was 50%, down 1 percentage point. On a discharge of treated water from the Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power plant into the ocean, 67% of respondents “understood” the government’s decision while 25% said they “did not understand.” Compared to a similar question in the July survey, positive answer increased by 9 points.
